Weight Management Classes (via Zoom)

I am running  monthly Weight Management Classes on Zoom (see on right or below (mobiles) for advert) and the package includes three consecutive weekly sessions. The price is £60 for the  three weekly sessions (package) and you pay in advance via BACS or PayPal.

This is where you begin to control and change, your relationship with food (and habits plus emotions) and most importantly, keep it off.  These classes also work very well alongside your NHS Weight Loss Plan, Slimming World or Weight Watchers.

Being a Solution Focused therapy we don’t focus on the problem (with good reason), we take the emphasis away from diet, exercise and weight and focus on feeling good and how to achieve that.  We know that when we feel good we naturally make better choices about food and feel motivated to exercise.  The mind body balance is what we strive for.

Class sizes are small, fun, relaxing and I am supportive.  Privacy is important and with respect we do not discuss individual's personal issues, and no one is signalled out.  We do not take any weight / diet information.  You attend the Zoom session and whilst waiting to begin, you are welcomed to chat among yourselves.  During the sessions, you listen and because we have a lot to get through within the hour, any questions that you might have, to please email me at the end.

 

Most participants use their bedroom during these sessions but if you prefer, a couch or comfy chair with head support can be used instead, or just lay on the floor. Make your space safe and private from family members and or inquisitive (or disruptive) pets, for that hour's session.  Make sure you have turned your mobile off, have a blanket and or pillow nearby.  For trance, I will ask you to use your imagination which will help the process and will not be a full trance as done within a one to one session.

 

Hypnotherapy is a combination of Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy. The Psychotherapy in itself is extremely beneficial and its effects are enhanced by the application of Hypnotherapy (trance), which enables the subconscious mind to make positive changes. 

Your Zoom class

I am sure we all wake up saying enough is enough, today will be different, but by 8pm you are back to your old unhealthy routine…..what is going on in your brain that is allowing that to happen, and what can you do to change those patterns of behaviour?

  1. Learn about why our brain lets us over-eat when we know it is bad for us and how our hormones and emotions influence our eating, especially sugary food.

  2. Goal setting suggestion – you choose your own goal each week and set it.  For example, your goal could be to stop eating a pastry with your coffee or it could be, to be more tolerant with the kids in the morning, or to tidy the kitchen before you go to bed….we all know that if our head is in a good place we do not comfort eat.  

  3. Hypnosis (visualisation) is to help relax you and allow your brain to process the suggestion towards your first step to your future.

Losing weight doesn’t MAKE you happy, but being HAPPY makes it possible to lose weight

Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapy is a collaborative process and it is important to understand that change happens because you want it to.

There is no magic wand to weight loss – but having the knowledge as to why you continue to repeat patterns of behaviour that you know are unhealthy is very powerful.  Having simple practical steps you can take to change these pattern of behaviour gets you on the right track.  Knowing why dieting doesn’t really work in the long term, but changing pattern of behaviour and reducing stress are the key to long term change.

A good weight management session is when the client is able to describe being happier not because they’ve lost weight or kept to a diet but because they feel able to cope well and are proud of their reaction to events.  Their happiness is what will make their change possible in the long term (weight management is usually just one of the changes that a person makes when they are happier or more confident)
